Delicious Lentils (دال-daal )the Traditional Afghan Way!
Total prep time: 30 minutes
Ingedrients: Red lentils (250g), water (250ml), Sunflowerseed oil (5 tbs), Fresh Coriander, 2 large tomatoes, 2 large onions, red and green chili pepper, 2 clove garlic, paprika/tomato puree, Spices: cumin, coriander seeds, curcuma, red chili, ginger powder (0.5 tbs each) And 1 vegetable broth.
Step 1 – Rinse the lentils and put it in the pan with 250ml water. Take the excess foam off with a spoon
Step 2 – Add the spices to the lentils and put it on low heat until cooked (should be hard) – 20 mins
Step 3 – Cut the onions, tomatoes and chili peppers in not too thin pieces (rings)
Step 4 – Cook the onions first in the pan and add the rest later – 5 mins
Step 5 – Take the lentils out from the pan and onto a plate
Step 6 – Add the sauce on top of it
