Juicy Poached Turkey Breast in Oil!
Total prep time: 90 minutes
Ingedrients: Turkey breast (1kg), Sunfloweroil (1L), Spices: foxglove (10 pieces), ginger (2 slices), unpeeled garlic (2 cloves), cinnamon (1 stick), star anise (half), salt (1 tbs), dry red chili (1 piece), unpeeled red onion (1 piece), dried italian spices (rosemary & thyme)
Step 1 – Put all the spices (except the italian spices) in a pan with 1 liter oil on low fire
*Important to make sure it’s on low fire
Step 2 – Add the turkey and leave for 45 mins (make sure the turkey is properly dried prior)
Step 3 – Turn the turkey
Step 4 – Add the italian spices and leave for another 45 mins
Step 5 – Take the turkey out of the oil and cut in pieces
Step 6 – Can be served either hot or cold, as preferred
Step 7 – Enjoy!
👩🏼🍳💙 Note Cooking the turkey this way actually won’t absorb the oil, thereby making it a healthy option in contrary to popular belief.
Note The turkey can easily be replaced by chicken breast as can be seen in the last picture
