💡💜 SUNDAY TIP on something you should be using more! Lavender is super healthy & has a surprising taste.
If you are unfamiliar with it. It is fresh & fruity with a sharp and bitter taste (a bit like rosemary).
It is antibacterial, helps against stress, restlessness, mild depression, insomnia, muscle strains and anxious legs etc.
💜 Lavender syrup is very simple to make and perfect for hot summerdays.
– 6 tbsp lavender flowers
– 200 gr sugar (or you can use 100 ml honey)
– 500 ml of water
– juice of half a lemon
For best results, soak dry lavender with 250 ml of boiling water for one hour. Then boil the soaked lavender with sugar and the rest of the water in a saucepan stir on medium temperature well.
Once it boils, remove from the heat and add lemon juice. Allow to cool completely. Then pour the syrup through a sieve.
Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
How to serve:
🍹Use 1 tbsp if syrup for a glass of lemonade.
Pour the lemonade over some ice cubes and garnish with some lavender sprigs and a slice of lemon.
– You can make beautiful ice cubes with lemon and lavender.
– You can put dry lavender in a small bag and place in your a wardrobe against moths.
– You can also put a bag of lavender under your pillow for better sleep.
